Elon Musk’s The Boring Company has partnered with Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) to develop the Dubai Loop, a cutting-edge underground high-speed transport network. The 17-kilometer (10.6-mile) system will initially transport over 20,000 passengers per hour, with plans to expand capacity to more than 100,000 passengers per hour in the future.
The project, announced during the World Governments Summit, will feature 11 stations in its pilot phase, with trains reaching speeds of up to 160 kilometers per hour. UAE’s Minister of Artificial Intelligence, Omar Al Olama, highlighted the project’s potential to transform urban mobility in Dubai.
The Dubai Loop will focus on reducing traffic congestion in the city’s busiest areas, leveraging The Boring Company’s innovative tunneling technology. This collaboration marks a significant step toward sustainable and efficient urban transportation.
